Leadership training session
Sokodé (Togo), February 2025
From February 5 to 11, 2025, Fr. Benoît Bigard, Assistant General, led a session on leadership in Sokodé (Togo) for the brothers of the vicariate, mainly young priests and deacons. We drew on a variety of resources, including: the Synod's Final Document on Synodality; a training session for provincial and/or general councils at Le Châtelard (Lyon); the latest session for formators in Nîmes; Assumptionist resources in this field (booklet on Leadership at the Assumption, Manual for Major Superiors (+annexes), sessions for new provincials...) and the congregation's reference texts (Acts of the Chapters, Rule of Life, Ratio Institutionis...).

Some of the sessionnists
The main themes addressed were as follows:
- New governance in the light of the Synod on synodality (cf. Sr Nathalie Becquart)
- Being called to authoritative service (cf. Châtelard)
- The workings of a council (cf. Châtelard)
- Embodying a responsible religious life at the forefront of the Mission (cf. Leadership at Assumption)
- The mission of a Major Superior (cf. Formation session for new provincials)
- Small canonical directory (especially concerning leaving the congregation, cf. Appendix 3 of the Major Superior's Manual)
- Some points of attention concerning formation (Reflections underway on formation at Assumption)
- Superiors' attitude to the most serious offenses (cf. CORREF)

Welcoming new postulants
On this occasion, Fr. Benoît also welcomed the new class of postulants from West Africa, gave a short session to postulants and novices, and met the lay-religious Alliance groups from Sokodé and Lomé...
