Blessing of 2 new icons at the General House
To strengthen our link with the Oriental Mission and with our roots
Mother of God “Hodigitria” by Dimitar Elenov
The chapel of our General House in Rome had the joy of welcoming, on 21 November 2024, two icons of great beauty: the Mother of God "Hodigitria" (showing her Son, the Way), written for us by the Bulgarian iconographer Dimitar Elenov, and our "patriarch" Saint Augustine, the work of our brother Blair Nuyda. We installed and blessed them on the day when we celebrate both the Presentation of Mary in the temple and the "birth to heaven" of our founder, Fr. Emmanuel d'Alzon, in 1880. May they inspire our prayer and bring it to God, whose presence in our lives they manifest in their own way!
