The work of the PGC resumed this morning with the Mass for the Feast of the Visitation, during which Fr. Fabien Lejeusne, Provincial of Europe, reminded the participants of the importance of encounters in the Christian life. This PGC is part of the same dynamic as that of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin to her cousin Elizabeth, which finds its meaning in the faith response of these two women to God's promise. The members of the PGC are not here just to deal with the “business” of the congregation. This meeting is a privileged moment of fraternal encounter and drawing closer to each other in faith.

The morning was taken up with news from the Provinces of Africa, Europe, the Andes, North America, Brazil and East Africa. This important moment of conversation was both enriching and a time of mutual edification in the exercise of the responsibility carried by the Major Superiors, who are charged with overseeing the quality of religious life and the missionary commitment of the entire Congregation.

In the afternoon, we reviewed the Congregation's contribution to the preparations for the second session of the synod on synodality. This exercise makes us more aware of the need to consolidate an increasingly synodal Assumption and Church. To this end, we should remember that the Church relies heavily on the experiences and examples of the consecrated life to establish a culture that engages all the faithful in walking together along the path of the Gospel. Experiences of fraternal life in community, Councils and Chapters lived in an Augustinian spirit can, in this sense, inspire the whole Church in its synodal journey.

Returning to the organization of congregational services, the final part of the day was devoted to the constitution of International Commissions and the reports of the Secretary and Procurator General. After hearing and examining these reports, the PGC expressed its gratitude to the Secretary and Procurator General for the service they had rendered with simplicity and determination.
